We observed that a large number of people have an inherent desire to contribute to society in some way. We also acknowledge that there are a large number of grass root organizations and non-governmental organizations (NGOs) doing commendable work in impacting many lives. Our vision is to create a link to connect people to the causes of their choice.
How does it work ?
Toofles Foundation is inspired by the word “tofa” meaning “gift”. We need people like you to dig into your cupboards to look for stuff that you might have not used for months or probably it wouldn't even be used again. It could be clothes, shoes, accessories, linen, utensils, plastic containers, crockery, books, toys, musical instruments, furniture, home decor items, DVDs, CDs, computers, computer games, appliances, electronic items........You get the picture! It could be anything that is piling up at your place and you want to get rid of. All you do is give it to us. The funds raised in this way would be contributed to various accredited NGOs working towards various causes, including the education of children, protection of the environment, care for the aged, and employment generation, to name just a few.
We are open to both kind and cash donations. To know how we use cash donations, click here.

What do we do with all this second hand stuff?
We collect it all at one place and have a sale.
Here is where you start to immediately make a difference. A number of economically underprivileged come for the sale, where they get to buy your second-hand stuff at fabulous bargains, which, in normal circumstances, they would never have been able to acquire.
That’s not all. We then collect this money and give it to a non-governmental organizations (NGO) of your choice. That’s right! YOU get to choose the cause that you want to donate to. So ultimately, your second-hand stuff benefits the underprivileged and the money raised in turn support beneficiaries of your selection.

Here’s a sample of how small amounts raised from the sale of second-hand items can make the world of a difference to many lives.
- Rs 800 will help a woman in the rural area own a smokeless stove. Not only is it more environmentally friendly and more healthy, it will eventually help her in lowering the rate of eye cancer in rural India.
- Rs 1,500 can help a person see by sponsoring a cataract operation.
- Rs 1,500 can help a child walk with the help of calipers.
- Rs 3,500 can give a handicapped person a tricycle to transport his vending cart to enable him to earn a livelihood.
- Rs 6,000 will enable children in the villages study at night after they have worked in the field during the day.
- Rs 10,000 will help one drought-prone village harvest rain water.
All you did was share your excess stuff. But in doing so, you changed lives! And, in helping all these people, you have even helped Planet Earth because your plastic and all other stuff is being re-used and not junked.
Where does the money eventually go?
Toofles Foundation had tied up with GiveIndia.org, a donation platform that allows you to support a cause of your choice from over 100 non-governmental organizations (NGOs) that have been scrutinized for transparency and credibility. All you have to do is select a cause. Once you do so, you can narrow down to a specific NGO. This will ensure that you know exactly where your money goes.
Toofles, in turn, ensures that at least 90% of the contributions coming from the sale of your second hand stuff is aggregated and sent to GiveIndia for the cause of your choice.
